Phillips County had a growing need to provide for the care of their residents in something besides just nursing care. They knew they needed an Assisted Living option added to their campus, but they weren't sure how to implement that.

The Altman-Charter team provided them with the solution. Prairie Wind Villa opened the fall of 2008 as a connected house to the existing nursing home.

The Villa has ten 1-bedroom apartments that include a kitchenette, private bathrrom, walk-in closet and seperate living and bedroom areas. All of the apartments open out to common areas that include a large kitchen, dining room, living room, parlor, resident laundry, and a private meeting room.

There is even a large front porch complete with rocking chairs to create a place where the residents of Phillips County can call home. "Most importantly our life-long neighbors can stay in their home town when they need a supported lifestyle," stated Kris Kuck, administrator.
