Rehab & Care Center
Mt. Carmel, Illinois

The original campus included two 1960''s vintage buildings licensed for 160 skilled nursing beds. Although Mt. Carmel''s population had been growing, the countywide census had been declining for years. The result for Oakview Heights was a declining occupancy within a dated facility, which resulted in the need for ongoing financial subsidies from their General Baptist parent organization.

Altman Charter was hired to develop a new campus plan that accomplished these primary goals:

Reposition the services offered to include alternative levels of care; including assisted living, licensed dementia and skilled nursing;

Downsize the skilled nursing bed count and reallocate patient rooms to include more private pay;

Consolidate services and staffing support functions to eliminate facility inefficiencies;

Provide a new image and quality of life that all patients and their families would enjoy.
